This was such an interesting book. This is one of those cases where the story sounds like one story but is really something else. It begins with a nurse who is taking care of a patient who is in a coma. But odd things begin happening and even these complications are not what they seem, If you like a real thriller, this is the one for you!

I have been a fan of Neil Simon for a long time. He has a way of presenting the challenges of life and combining it with humor in a way that will touch tour heart. In this story a father is hard pressed for money and has to leave his 2 sons with their crotchety grandmother and his mentally challenged sister. It ends up being like mixing oil and water, but somehow everyone gets through it. How Simon relates the story will make you want to cry and laugh.

What if we could bring back the dinosaurs, only this time we could edit the genes so that the dinosaurs were not aggressive? Would that be enough? Or would we want to also bring back neanderthal man? Would that then be enough? Or would we then want to use some of the neanderthal genes to improve our genome? And where would this all lead? This is the setting for this wonderful and yet truly frightening story. You will not be disappointed!

This was a gift from a great aunt and we love it dearly. Momma had it memorized quickly and recited it lovingly at bed time and in the middle of the night.

The Woman

Very good Historical Fiction. At first it was depressing, so much time in the Vietnam war but after it really opened my mind to how woman nurses in the war were treated after coming home. I already knew how Vietnam vets were treated back in the USA.

Lisey's Story

This is one of my all time favorite books by King. In this book, Lisey’s husband Scott is a famous author, and while she is deeply in love with him, Scott has some unusual behaviors, one of which is visiting a land where people who are catatonic go. He also has a bizarre family history which is how he discovered this place. But when Scott dies and Lisey is threatened with danger, she goes there too. This is a wonderful tale with all of the trappings that Stephen King is famous for.

Final Justice

The book is, at its heart, a story about a women’s vigilante group. And while it had its moments, I felt that there were too many other side stores, and I don’t know if there were other books before this with these characters, but I felt the I was missing some of the back story. And over all there were just way too many characters, and the ending is not believable.
