This was an excellent mystery and one with an unusual wetting; a moor in England. Combine that with a hound that glows in the dark and you’ve got yourself an interesting start. The mystery progresses at a good pace with good characters. If you like traditional mysteries, I highly recommend this one.

Really inspirational for me, and it was a beautiful and motivating read.

This is such an amazing book. I did this as an audio book and the reader reads the book beautifully. It is the story of a young girl in high school who is struggling with being the object of male interests, of her own feelings, and of her religious mother’s requirements. It is insightful and moving and there were parts where I did not want to stop. This is a definite must read.

Since I really liked his book The Midnight Library, I was looking forward to this one. But I was disappointed when I started reading and saw that it was just a compilation of feel-good sayings and stores, many of which are just obvious like Only you can be you and It does not matter what other people think. And while each sentiment by itself could be helpful if they were, say, on a calendar where you got one idea a day and then spent the day thinking about that, here you are bombarded with one after another. It was just not for me.

What a great book! And what really make it interesting is the way it is set up. It starts out as the beginning of an MFA grad student’s dissertation but then evolves into the book itself. And while it starts off as third person narrative, at some point it becomes first person, which just adds a whole new layer to the story. And to say that the story is about a man cheating on his wife and the wife maybe cheating on her husband (you’ll have to read in order to make sense of that) does not begin to do it justice.

Golding’s usage of so many literary devices is phenomenally well done. I also absolutely adore the themes on danger of mob mentality and how easy it is to fall into a mindset that lacks individual thinking. Enjoyable read.

The graphic is honestly really well done, and the core of the book is about a topic I am passionate about: human rights, and I can definitely see why this is considered a classic. Now I really want to read the original one with just text!

But when his brother is killed and he steps into his building’s elevator on his way to implement #3, he experiences something that will change his life.

This book opened up a whole new genre for me, namely Historical Fiction Mysteries and what a treat this book was. A well-to-do young man falls in love with a young dancer from England who is not from his social class, but he marries her and they go back to live with his family in New York, But both she and he carry a important secret that when revealed will tear the family apart. And you will never guess who the murder is!
